Was This What We Had In Mind

The Declaration of Independence:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness………………."
When this ‘republic’ was formed, 13 colonies became the first 13 states of a union. Each state had laws that governed that state, some were good, some not so good, we were new at it and made a few mistakes. The words ‘self evident’ remove the chance of any  objection to the following, ‘all men are created equal’. These rights are not granted by man but by their creator means that man cannot usurp these rights. 
The brilliance of Thomas Jefferson and our Founding Fathers never shone as bright and a nation was born.
It is some 236 years later, do we still “hold these truths to be self evident”?
Part of the Oath of Office the President of the United States takes on Inauguration Day is to defend the Constitution. I’d like you to remember that fact as you reflect on how much our nation has changed since January 20th, 2009. I’d like you to think about the effect our President has had on the lives of Americans today and for some time to come. When you do, ask yourself if this is the kind of change you had hoped. So much is in jeopardy, not just on our shores but all over the world. 
The voice of America, freedom from injustice, democracy and the “unalienable Rights” of men and women, once a thunderous roar is quick becoming a whisper.  The answer is a simple one, the truth is rather than electing a man of Principle, we elected a Politician!
Domestically and internationally every policy and decision of this administration is done for political expedience. 
President Obama has never left the campaign trail. His Presidency will prove to be the greatest abuse of power in the history of our Nation. The change he is initiating is destroying our independence and freedom by slowly making us slaves of the government. 
If he continues to abuse the powers of the ‘Executive’ government will grow so large that, like social security’, millions of men and women will rely on this government for their very existence.
Is this the kind of change you voted for?
